Recent research includes examining changing distributions of British kelps and wracks, Europe‐wide studies of coastal and marine invasive species, and next generation sequencing of coralline algae.

ALGAplus Lda

HA is the co‐founder and director of ALGAplus Lda, responsible for the customer relationship and R&D activities. She became a marine biologist in the Universidade dos Açores where she first started to work with macroalgae. She later got expertise in seaweed physiology and cultivation, having worked in Chile, USA, Ireland and Portugal. While in research, she actively participated in the writing, technical component and management of several national and EU projects

Leonel Pereira

University of Coimbra

LP is a Professor at the University of Coimbra. His main scientific interests are: Phycology, Marine Biotechnology, Biodiversity and Taxonomy, Bioinformatics and Databases, Environmental Assessment, Nutrition and Thalassotherapy. He has published 29 papers in scientific journals and proceedings of events, has 14 book chapters and 8 books published. He has 34 items of technical production and has received 3 awards and/ or honor.
